My work is held in private collections across the Caribbean, the United States of America and Europe and is represented in galleries across in Barbados and the Turks and Caicos Islands and more recently on the walls of Pimlico tube station!
I am a contemporary, Bajan, mixed media artist and would describe myself as a bit of a gypsy. My work is shaped by movement across countries, cultures and experiences. Having lived in 37 homes across 7 countries and 3 continents, I’ve experienced constant movement and change in my life.
I create original layered mixed media paintings that explore movement, memory and belonging. My work can’t help but express the hidden emotions of change and a life in flux. Every finished piece has been buried in layers built up and then destroyed. It takes time and is representative of the emotional traces that places, people and countries leave behind and are buried within me and my memory.
No one else can do what I do. My art is me on canvas, my experiecnes, my emotions, my memory. It is colourful, physical, gestural and one hundred percent original.
I live between places and belong to none.
