I have always been drawn to the energy and vibrancy of carnival dancers, in vibrantly coloured costumes. I used layers of pinks and yellows against a rich blue, for my initial structure. I layer with stencil, pens, pencils and a host of different marks, some of which don’t make it to the final stage. I love that my dancer has the confidence to be front and center- no apologies.
