Storm - Z
Characters of my imagination developed from observing the vibrant Caribbean dancers during carnival and watching their costumes flow through space creating colourful movement. suspended over the calm ocean.
I feel the dancers are enitities conjuring up good and bad with their wild energy in contrast to the backdrop of a calm ocean - for now.
Every summer we are all away of the storms and hurricanes that are coming our way off the west coast of Africa. Life becomes a lottery and the only hope is the storms don’t hit our island.
9 × 11 inches /23 × 28 cms
Acrylic, pen and pencil on canvas
